                                        The Yeti Year 1996

Feb. 23        18:00 Cocktail at the Pollux

Feb. 24       The guides have organized a giant slalom for members and guides, above Riffelberg. The competition was original insofar as every competitor had to estimate his time before the race, and the winner was the one who run in a time nearest to his estimation.

Sonia de Castro and Nicole Niquille. Nicole is the first woman Guide in Switzerland, paralyzed for life by a stone falling on her while she was searching mushrooms. We celebrate her at the Täschhütte. 

Aug. 16        18:00 Cocktail at the Zermatterstübli

Aug. 17         08:00 Meeting at the Matterhornbahnen, cabin ride to Schwarzsee. Excursion on the fresh trail made by Beni Graven to the new bivouac on the Zmuttgrat, crossing glaciers. For some of us, it was the first experience walking with ice-spurs. Return via Staffelalp by bus to the Silvana at Furri. Grill-party until late in the evening.
