Rescue of a hangglider fallen into a cable
Rescue from wild waters, from a cable-car
and from a chairlift

The parachute is entangled into a cable. Rescue by helicopter at this point is not possible, because the downwash of the rotors could fill the
parachute and blow the man into the void. The same rule prevails for the rescue of hanggliders in the mountains.

Rescuers must approach the casualty with whatever means
available, here with a pulley, in the mountains afoot or by roping down.

As soon as the casualty is secured, the parachute is separated from
him.

The casualty can then be either hauled to the next pylon or flown out
by a helicopter. A hangglider rescued on the mountain is flown away by
helicopter as soon as he is separated from his parachute.
